Notebooks come and go but the Wingback Tuscan leather cover endures. Each cover can be customised with an inscription on the front and a personal message or inspiring quote on the inside sleeve. Made from naturally tanned full-grain Tuscan leather, any nicks or marks it picks up will smooth away to leave a rich patina, a subtle reminder of the journeys you’ve shared and ideas you’ve put down. Every Notebook Cover is made to order and hand stitched with heavy gauge thread in our London workshop, making it an ideal one-of-a-kind gift. Simply pick your leather, coloured thread and inscriptions to make it as unique as the person who’ll carry it.

The Wingback Notebook Cover is available with either the Karst Stone Paper A5 Notebook or Moleskine Classic Hardcover Notebook. The Karst Stone Paper is an environmentally-friendly alternative to traditional pulp paper, using 60% less energy to produce, while Moleskine's design is inspired by the legendary notebook used by artists and thinkers of the past. Karst's notebook is slightly wider than Moleskine's. Choose your notebook option from the drop down menu above.

My Wife was Delighted

I bought the Notebook Cover in Chilli, with a suitable engraving, for my wife as a Christmas present. She is delighted with the quality of the leather and the colour.

Where is the pen holder?

Would buy it if they add a holder for my mechanical pen

Not sure

I recently received the Cognac coloured notebook as a gift from my colleagues. The quality of the leather seems pretty good. But I'm not sure if the fit is correct as the cover does not close completely when a Moleskine notebook is placed inside. Also, the colour seems darker than the one advertised on the website.

Hi Terence,

Thanks for the feedback, while we do try and keep colours as consistent as possible, colours can change slightly from hide to hide. The fit issue seems to be that the notebook cover is the Karst size, but the notebook itself is a Moleskine which is much smaller. I'll get in touch with you via email and arrange a Karst replacement.

Notebook Cover

Excellent quality, thank you.

A little disappointed.

This was my first leather purchase from Wingback, and I wanted to see what Italian leather looked and felt like. Being an American leather product user, I am used to thicker American hides, and expected the Italian leather to be the same (or similar) thickness. The Italian leather looks and feels like bonded (leather that is ground up and glued together) leather, and is almost cardboard-ish. I will admit, the tanning and color (Chilli) is first-rate, and evenly done, and the red color is very nice. There are no cosmetic flaws, nicks, scratches, or tears in the leather. It comes in a nice cloth drawstring pouch. The stitching is also well done, and even.

Hi Dan,
Thanks for the honest review, and I'm glad you like the product. I'd like to address your points on the leather itself and offer a couple of pointers that may help you enjoy it a little more.
Firstly I can assure you that the leather is not bonded. We only use full grain vegetable tanned hides for our products. We do use a natural sealing process on the back of the leather though in order to give a consistent finish and offer a bit of extra protection over the life of the product.
The leather also starts off life quite stiff but will soften and conform as it is used. You can speed up this process by manipulating the leather in your hands.
After a few weeks of good use is when the leather should really have broken in nicely and display it's best characteristics, so please let me know how you get on after a bit of time with the product.
Thanks, Alasdair
