The Wingback Mechanical Pen has been designed to last for decades, not months, epitomising our “buy once” philosophy. Machine turned from a solid bar of aerospace-grade brass, it is reassuringly weighty in the hand with a wide diameter to reduce writing fatigue and encourage time to be taken with every pen stroke. A satisfying single handed twist locks the nib mechanism in place and every pen can be personalised with a laser engraved inscription of up to 50 characters along the length of the barrel. *Fisher Space Pen® Pressurized Ink Cartridge. ‘Fisher’ and ‘Space Pen’ are trademarks of Fisher Pen Co. Perfectly engineered

Did you do metalwork at school? These pens remind me of when I did metalwork. My brass Wingback pen has no engineering flaws, it even stands on its tip! The Last maps version I have underlines the exclusivity of these pens, which are designed to last. Nothing is perfect though. I wish they supplied a case to match such fine engineering. I get the cotton sleeve approach (it's what I'd put it in after taking it of the lathe) but an included quality case would be better I think.

A perfect pen

I own the standard brass mechanical pen. And am now doubting whether to purchase the Last Maps Octopus. I love the design. But the one I own is built to last - buy one, keep it to the grave.
The brass pen ist just perfect. Small to fit everywhere, but the right size and weight to write in full comfort. And as an engineer I can tell this is really made to last - wasn't able to find any weak spot which may need to wear of the pen!
So still doubting buying a second one as I just can write with one hand (and for the other I have already the brass pencil, another marvel of engineering).
