Wingback metal products are built to last, machined from aerospace grade brass and stainless steel. Use this guide to keep them going for the long haul.

ONE FOR THE ROAD

The classic rectangular hip flask is iconic – worth its weight in gold (or scotch). But, back in 2019, we believed we could create a flask that celebrates its contents in a more user-friendly, easy to clean and enjoyable way.

The result is the 100ml Hip. With a seamless, cylindrical design the flask is reassuringly robust, resilient and – best of all – adventure ready. At a 100ml/ 3.4 fl.oz capacity, it’s the ultimate travel companion, designed to serve you on any journey as well it does at home.

Every flask is CNC machined in Birmingham from a solid bar of 316 stainless steel, which is food and dishwasher safe. It won’t alter the flavour of its contents and it’s also virtually indestructible. The flask will withstand almost anything you can throw at it without losing a shade of its original glory.

Once the flask reaches our London workshop, it is laser engraved, assembled by hand and packaged, then delivered in a cotton pouch with a bespoke Wingback keyring. You can use the keyring to unscrew the base for easy cleaning – which we recommend doing before first use. How exactly? See below.

The 100ml Hip was the pre-curser our best-selling ballpoint, the Mechanical Pen. Take a closer look at how we made it here.

CLEANING AND ASSEMBLING YOUR FLASK

Made in the UK from food grade 316 stainless steel, all parts of the 100ml Hip Flask are dishwasher safe – even our Black Steel limited edition.

However, we recommend giving it a wash before first use. For thorough cleaning and assembly, follow these steps below.

1. Unscrew the base with the keyring provided (any 50p sized keyring should do the job). Insert the keyring into the base and twist anti-clockwise.

2. Unscrew the cap of the flask and remove the seal inside.

3. Wash all parts in warm soapy water or run through the dishwasher, then pat dry.

4. Reassemble by pushing the seal back in place, and screwing the base with the keyring until it fully connects with the rubber o-ring.

5. Once clean, fill with your choice of bourbon, whisky, gin, tequila, mezcal... (you name it, we've tested it).

6. Finally, sip, savour and say sláinte agus táinte – to your health and wealth.
