Project Nevis was our campaign to design the perfect backpack.
One that's as at home on a commute through the city as it is on an expedition to summit Ben Nevis.
For several months we worked with our community to ensure our debut bag was the best version it could be.
We launched the Everyday Pack via Kickstarter and 356 backers later the bag is now avaialble to pre-order via our website.
You can check it out by tapping the button below or scroll down to see how we built it.

SEE MOREFor the past few months we've been testing some prototypes on our commute (and on an especially wet weekend hiking The Three Peaks). Now we want to know what you'll use the pack for, starting with two questions. Click the link below and let us know.
Next up, we want to know what type of pack you’re after and how big you need it. Tap below to answer our next set of questions.
Material options and colours for inside and outside our new pack, next. Tap below to answer our questions. It'll take less than a minute (we timed it).
Almost at the finish line now. Here we've laid out all the options for the buckles, clips, zips and logo placement. Just tap below to pick your favourites.
We want this pack to be the first in an ecosystem of Wingback luggage, each featuring modular accessories that work together seamlessly, whether for a week in the city or day on the mountain. But exactly what accessories do you want? Let us know below.
We're at the sharp end of this project now, so what would you like us to call it and how much do you think it's worth? Take your pick from the options we've outlined below.
As we build our first Backpack, drawing on feedback from our community, we'll be sharing previews as we go. Keep checking back here for updates.
From all of us in the workshop, thanks for your support. We can't wait to bring you the finished article.
Alasdair, Megs, Sam and the Wingback Team
Thanks to everyone who answered our first round of questions. The vast majority of you are looking for a bag built for commuting that can double up for a weekend getaway. You also told us function and materials are more important to you than customisation, with one insisting it must, at all costs, "look banging". We'll do our best. Using these insights we'll refine our prototype over the next few days and should have something new to show you soon.
You've had your say on style and capacity and it's fairly unanimous. Zips are in, wheels are out. A laptop sleeve is a non-negotiable. And 14-24 litres is the capacity sweet spot. We're going to go quiet for a couple weeks while we put your feedback into practise with our next prototype. Watch your inbox for updates early-mid June.
For survey #3 we asked which type of material you would prefer and waxed cotton came galloping out as the front runner. We also asked which colours you would like inside and out. Black (32%) and dark grey (27%) got the majority of the vote for the outer, with orange (28%) a surprisingly popular choice for the inside, followed by dark grey (15%) and red (12%). Scroll down to see some early prototypes we've been playing with.
This was all about hardware options for the backpack and the results are in. AustriAlpin buckles (41%), polymer coil AquaGuard zips (68%) and bespoke knurled pullers (78%) won the day. Conveniently, these stainless steel pullers double perfectly as simple, machined key fobs, which we've just released as a mini launch. Take a look via the button below.
Straps weren't a priotity for most of you but the suggestion of removable ones came up, we've got a good idea for that... A removable bag for tech was your favourite accessory and about half of you were interested in personalising your bag in some way.
Having taken your feedback on board, below are some early prototypes we've been experimenting with over the past few weeks, along with a gallery of our latest iteration. We hope you like what you see.
The Everyday Pack is now available to pre-order. Take a closer look at our Bag Collection here.
