An alternative to disposable culture
Most of our development time goes on making a product work better, in small ways and large. The Mechanical Pencil's all-metal mechanism carries 10x more lead than alternatives, so refilling is a rare job rather than a weekly one.
Materials are chosen for heavy use: solid brass, stainless steel and titanium machined in England, full grain vegetable-tanned leather, and a recycled and reinforced fabric 15x stronger than steel.
The methods come from traditional craft and from high-end engineering in equal measure. SOLIDSTATE™, our flexible titanium hardware, is cut from a single piece of titanium by wire EDM: one part, with no pins or springs to loosen.
