Wind beneath my Wingback

The design is elegant and effective which I find very appealing - attention to detail with the machining is where it matters in the grip and tip and the twist function to advance/withdraw the writing tip. The build quality is excellent and feels ‘bespoke’ and promises to literally last a lifetime. It helps reinforce the notion of handwriting still being a creative / valued activity.

A beautiful thing to hold

One very happy customer - the pencil is a beautiful thing to hold, reassuringly sturdy and amazingly tactile. I can’t wait to see how the patina develops over the years.

The quality of each batch is different…

I’ve previously purchased a mechanical pen in the steel finish and loved it so much I put away some more money for a couple months after to justify buying a second pen this time in the brass finish. I like it for the most part it is similar to the steel finish however the knurling on the ink tip of the brass pen does not look or feel the same as the knurling on the twist end or both knurling ends of the steel pen as pictured attached. Both knurling ends on the steel as well as the twist knurling end of the brass look and feel the same however the ink end knurling of the brass feels smoother and not grippy as if it hasn’t been finished properly. You may think I’m overreacting but this is the second pen that I’m spending over $100 on to be FULLY SATISFIED. I’ve communicated with Megan from Wingback who mentioned that the quality for “each batch is not the same” who also made a promise to me but never did what she said. I’m still giving the 3 stars because of the fact that if both knurling on this pen had been finished the same it would have been 5 stars in quality I still would’ve given it a 4 but also because of not fulfilling your promise the other star is taken off. The 3 star is solely due to the fact that I have the pen in the steel finish and I love it and saw the potential for the brass to make me love it too.

Each day provides its own gifts.

I bought myself this pen as a gift to me from me. It has the inscription “each day provides its own gifts”
This is partly to acknowledge the gift I gave myself but also to remind me when I look at the pen or pick it up to write with it, that whatever is happening that day is a gift. Whether it may be considered good or bad, it's still a gift.
I love writing with my new pen and think it will be with me wherever I go for a long time to come.
Thanks Wingback for a great pen.
