Our commitment

We have set out, since the beginning, to be a leading brand in creating sustainable luxury products that can withstand the test of time. We want to challenge disposable culture and fast fashion practices.

This is our commitment.

Our Mission

Wingback's mission is help end to fast fashion and disposable culture by producing useful and beautiful everyday items that are designed to improve with age and built to last a lifetime.

The amount of rubbish from packaging and single use items continues to increase, and it is not sustainable. There aren't enough resources to perpetually manufacture single-use products which ultimately end up in landfill.

Within the retail industry, so much material textile and packaging gets wasted and thrown away. We want to change that.

Our Positive Impacts

We have long been active in taking steps to reduce our impact on the environment through our operations as well as through donations and off-setting.

We use recyclable or reusable packaging for all our products, which limits the volume of material heading into landfill. Our luggage collection features leather tags made from off-cuts of our leather goods collection, creating a more cyclical, lower-waste system.

We have partnered with Flora and Fauna International as part of our commitment to 1% For The Planet. They work to protect different areas around the world that are important for communities, ecosystems and biodiversity, while also protecting endangered species.

To offset our the unavoidable components of our carbon footprint, we have purchased carbon credits from a range of vitally important projects which are developing sustainable forestry, reclaiming refrigerants, and increasing the stability of coastlines.

1% For the planet

We are a member of 1% For The Planet through certification. In order to qualify, we donate 1% of our revenue environmental organisations which are directly making positive impacts on the Earth.

We chose Fauna and Flora International as our key partner. They are one of the oldest conservation organisations that have active restoration and protection projects worldwide.

Carbon Neutral

Since 2023, we have been carbon neutral. We use The Change Climate Project's Business Emissions Evaluator to measure our carbon footprint and off-set it through a variety of projects and environmental organisations who work to protect our environment.

This is the breakdown of our carbon footprint, what is creating the emission and which Scope it belongs to.

B-Corp

The B-Corp organisation provides certification to companies that are committed to making a positive impact on their environment, community and employees.

We are currently working towards this certification, and taking further steps to improve our overall sustainability goals, and further reduce our carbon impact. We hope to be able to share more information very soon...

DHL Go Green

We have recently opted-in to DHL's GoGreen program which invests in short- and long-term ways to reduce emissions caused throughout the manufacturing supply chain and distribution network.

These investments include increasing the use and applicability of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAFs) and increasing the number of electric planes in their fleet for the future.

Future Goals

While we have hit quite a few sustainability markers, there is still more work to do.

In the course of the next 12 months, we will be seeking to:
- Reduce Scope 3 sources of greenhouse gases
- Improve resource efficiency
- Increase social responsibility within our local community here in Central London
- Increase transparency
- Complete a full sustainability-focussed Life Cycle Analysis of our business and our products
