International orders are sent delivered duty paid. The price you pay at checkout includes any import duty and tax due in your country, so there is nothing to pay on delivery.
You have 30 days from delivery to return an unused piece for a refund. Personalised or engraved items are made for you, so they are not returnable unless faulty.

Reviews
I am baffled by the positive reviews for the Fisher ink cartridge. Like many others who have posted on line, my experience is that the Fisher pen cartridge simply does not flow. I have tried 3 different cartridges all with the same poor performance. I’ve attached a photo. Wingback’s response was to offer me some replacement cartridges in case mine was from a “bad batch.” In the first place, why would Wingback ship pens with cartridges that have bad batches? Also, the defective cartridges that I tested came from purchases over time for a Space Pen that I own. Wingback’s other suggestion was that I purchase a newer model pen that accepts alternative refills. Really? How about sending me a replacement pen at no charge that accepts an ink cartridge that actually works? Shame on you. I have been very impressed with how communicative Wingback has been. I remain a big fan of the size, construction, finish, and weighted balance of their original mechanical pen. I wish them success and hope they find a way for the pen to actually write.

I use pens and pencils every day and they have ranged from Montegrappa to Mont Blanc. The wingback is a workhorse. Functional, practical and unpretentious. I wouldn't use anything else. I have the pen and previously had the pencil.
Be careful with yours - the cylindrical nature makes it prone to "rolling" of your work surface. Sadly I lost my pencil earlier this year at an airport when this happened. I ordered a refill for the pen recently - took a while to arrive but it was over the Christmas period so probably explained it. If you scribe, get a wingback.

The Fisher Cartridge is very smooth and bold, so far it hasn't smeared when writing. With the design of the pen combined the Fisher Cartridge I can honestly say it has improved my writing experience.
Customer service was exemplary and the items received (keyrings & pen) were delightful. The engraving was excellent and there are many happy recipients of Wingback items that will undoubtedly treasure them forever! Very happy customer.

In the past year I have purchased the mechanical pen and pen holder and the key cachet. Each are beautifully made and presented. The ethos of longevity really appeals and these every day pieces will certainly last a life time. MY BEST TOOL FOR WORK RIGHT NOW IS MY WINGBACK PEN - I also own wingback wallet and notebook cover - high quality feel good products - I have also bought for gifts which have gone down very well. The service has also been superb - getting me out of a tight spot when I forgot a present for someone. Highly recommended.
As the title says if my pen rolls off the desk or I drop it, the pen magically always lands point down (mechanical pen—brass)and the cartridge cannot handle it at all I’ve run through 5 cartridges in a week simply because I’m clumsy. I’m currently searching for an alternative filler if you use these cartridges buy them by the handful
Hi, Sorry you're having trouble with the Fisher cartridges. As an alternative to the cartridge you can purchase an adaptor which will allow you to use any D1 cartridge instead. We don't have any in stock at the moment, but if you search for 'Schon D1 adaptor' online you should be able to find one fairly easily.
Frequently asked questions
Unpersonalised pieces leave us in 1 to 2 working days; personalised pieces are made to order and leave in 1 to 2 weeks. UK delivery is by DPD and usually adds a day or two. International orders travel by FedEx and arrive 2 to 7 days after dispatch, depending on where you are. Anything that includes a pre-order piece ships together, on the date shown against that piece.
No. On international orders, import duty and tax are calculated at checkout and paid by us before the parcel leaves England. Nothing is owed on delivery and there is no paperwork to complete.
Most pieces can be engraved with initials, a name or a short message — add the inscription on this page before you add to cart. Two things change when you do: your piece is made to order, so allow 1 to 2 weeks before dispatch, and because it is made for you it cannot be returned or exchanged.
Yes — you have 30 days from delivery to change your mind, no reason needed. Email hello@wingback.co.uk and send the piece back; you cover the return shipping and we refund your original payment method. The exception is personalised pieces, which are made to your specification and cannot be returned.
Yes. If anything fails through a fault in the materials or the making — whether that is next month or in twenty years — we repair or replace it. Wear, patina and the marks of use are not faults; they are the point. The full terms are on our Guarantee & repairs page.
Our materials are chosen to wear in, not wear out. Brass darkens with handling into a patina unique to you — polish it back to bright whenever you like. Steel and titanium keep their finish with almost no attention, and leather deepens in colour as it is used. This ageing is character rather than damage, and each product page carries specific care notes in the Wear and Care row.

The metal is machined in England, the leather hand-stitched in London, and our waxed cotton bags made in England. A few pieces are made overseas, by specialists who do that particular job better than we could here, and where that's the case we say so on the product page rather than leave you guessing.
Wherever a product is made, it's designed here and carries the same guarantee. If something stops working as it should in normal use, we repair or replace it, however long you've owned it.
