Description
Coming in at a carry-on friendly 100ml, our take on the classic hip flask is an ideal travel companion, yet generous enough for a few good measures. A machined cylindrical design allows for a wide mouth for zero waste filling and smoother drinking than the traditional flat flask. We've also designed in a knurled grip cap that doubles up as a handy half measure, a dual seal and a useful bottle opener on the base.
The Oxford Blue special edition is finished with a Cerakote ceramic-polymer coating developed for aerospace and automotive applications, where parts are working hard constantly. At 20 microns it is thinner than a human hair, yet it bonds to the machined steel beneath adding abrasion, corrosion, chemical and impact resistance. The result is a classic dark matte blue that is tougher than the metal it covers, and wherever you add an inscription, the engraving vaporises the coating to reveal bright steel below.

I recently purchased a Key Cache from Wingback in Titanium and thought what a good idea it was, then I saw the Hip Flask and thought I don’t own one so why not get one. As with my previous purchase the quality, feel & materials are all there, plus the thought of doing something a little different, the bottle opener on the base is a nice touch, plus the chance of engraving something personal on it, all said Wingback make some quality products, they have something is their range that most people would use, so thanks again.
So I’ve used other flasks in the past and always been annoyed with both filling and cleaning, but always just assumed that’s the way it had to be. Then along comes the wingback hip flask which solves both by having a wide mouth for filling and a removable base to make for easy cleaning. The bottle opener is a little unexpected touch the team added in.
Exterior looks and feels absolutely amazing… 5 star feel. I’m just disappointed with the finishing of the interior of the flask. There is a sand like piece that won’t come off dead in the middle of the inside and the finishing closer towards the mouth area is a bit sharp and just not clean smooth. Unscrewing and screwing on the cap is also not smooth, I compared it to the stainless steel variant of this flask and this one is not smooth open and close. I have my complaints about the stainless steel variant as well however the shape of this flask is so unique I still decided to keep it, but this time… I have to not look inside the flask to enjoy it for real.
The flask is a beautiful unique shape that feels great in hand, it hasn’t leaked so far, and the removable base makes it easy to clean.

The inside of the flasks are pretty complex to machine. The mechanical properties of 316 stainless steel and Titanium mean it's really tricky to avoid a bit of vibration when boring out the inside of the flask. Even a tiny bit of vibration results in a slightly rougher surface internally.
I'd be more than happy to take a look at your flask and sort you out with a refund or replacement if it is out of spec. What you describe as a 'sand like piece' isn't normal, but certainly something we can fix.

Overall feel of the product is 5 stars however the inside face of the cap doesn't have the red rubber covering the face to "show off the beautiful machining marks on the metal" then update your advertised images so you customers aren't surprised when they receive a product that isn't as advertised. Also to pay like $200 for a 100ml flask to have that mark in the middle of the inside of the flask because "it skims down the metal," I don't know anything about machining but I paid a premium price for a product that holds 100ml of drink so I expected the finishes to have minimal/none at all imperfections.
I'm sorry you're disappointed with the product. We made the decision to change the design of the seal at the top to reduce the amount of silicon used and to show off the machined surfaces on the cap. The surface finish on the inside of the barrel is created from the boring bar, and inconsistencies in there are down to vibrations during machining. This boring process is particularly difficult due to the length of the part and also hardness of the Stainless Steel we use and is something we're constantly working on.

Very good quality
I have two titanium hip flasks, one with a raw finish and one with a matte finish. I prefer the raw finish because it feels smoother and more pleasant to the touch, whereas the matte finish feels slightly less refined. To improve the feel, I gently polished the matte flask with a fine abrasive cloth.
That being said, I really like the design. If I had to find one minor flaw, it would be that the raw version—possibly because it was from an earlier batch—occasionally squeaks when the cap is tightened. Interestingly, the matte version does not exhibit this behavior.
As a small design suggestion, I would consider making the knurling slightly larger. In my opinion, this would give it a more uniform and harmonious appearance while preserving the overall aesthetic.
All in all, this is the most beautiful hip flask I have ever seen. The craftsmanship, material choice, and overall design make it a truly exceptional piece.
I’m really disappointed with the quality of this ridiculously priced hip flask. I took a gamble spending the money in the hope that it would be a high quality item and it just isn’t. It arrived with machining swarf inside, the threads are rough so taking the lid on and off feels rubbish and the green coating on the lip inside the lid is damaged and scratched by the lid itself when you take it on and off. At this price point these issues should have been addressed with some form of quality control. I did receive the free key ring thing with this order, that’s so cheap feeling I feel I was overcharged for that as well and it came free.
If you are interested in cutting edge British products wingback is the website for you. The hip flask in particular is an instant classic. It is not copying anything else it is truly an original. Beautifully made and wonderfully finished I cannot recommend it highly enough. It is not cheap but the very best never is.
Hi, I made an order for some stationary items aswel as one of the flasks. But the journey for these items to reach me became an ordeal due to courier saying they delivered it but even the photo they sent as proof didn’t have the package in it. The courier company wiped their hand of any responsibility so I reached out to the team at wingback(Megan). Even though it was a very busy time of year she did her due diligence and replaced all the lost items and even added something to say sorry about the trouble. Unpersonalised pieces leave us in 1 to 2 working days; personalised pieces are made to order and leave in 1 to 2 weeks. UK delivery is by DPD and usually adds a day or two. No. On international orders, import duty and tax are calculated at checkout and paid by us before the parcel leaves England. Nothing is owed on delivery and there is no paperwork to complete.

Our materials are chosen to wear in, not wear out. Brass darkens with handling into a patina unique to you — polish it back to bright whenever you like. Steel and titanium keep their finish with almost no attention, and leather deepens in colour as it is used. This ageing is character rather than damage, and each product page carries specific care notes in the Wear and Care row.
