Description
The Pocket Refillable Notebook is laser-cut from thick full-grain Tuscan leather and hand-stitched in London. Through use will develop a rich patina that tells its own story alongside yours. Inside, the cover comes with a pocket soft cover Moleskine notebook and can be replaced with any 9 x 14cm notebook.
Our 1.4 mm Tuscan vegetable-tanned leather is built for heavy use. Durable yet supple, the Whisky leather has a light tan colour and softens and darkens over time to develop a rich, unique patina that reflects the stories of the journeys it joins you on.

WhiskyI bought the Karst version (A5) and it fits my LEUCHTTURM1917 Bullet Journal Edition 2 like a glove. The leather, cut, and stitching are top class. The inscription/engraving is good, but I would have liked it to be a little larger. Customer service is excellent. Overall, I am very happy with my Wingback cover.
I had previously read a review that said this did not fit but the response was that the was because it was a moleskine notepad. The Karst one was supposed to fit but it does not. Difficult to see any information on the website as to how and where to return this.

I recently received the Cognac coloured notebook as a gift from my colleagues. The quality of the leather seems pretty good. But I'm not sure if the fit is correct as the cover does not close completely when a Moleskine notebook is placed inside. Also, the colour seems darker than the one advertised on the website.

Thanks for the feedback, while we do try and keep colours as consistent as possible, colours can change slightly from hide to hide. The fit issue seems to be that the notebook cover is the Karst size, but the notebook itself is a Moleskine which is much smaller. I'll get in touch with you via email and arrange a Karst replacement.

If you are looking for a quality leather cover for a moleskine notebook, then your search is over. This is the one. Perfect fit, allows use of the elastic strap. Ages beautifully.
Disappointed in the Pocket Refillable Notebook - British Racing Green. Not as described— hard to describe this as green, it’s just a very dark gray, approaching black. The leather itself is good quality, but the design isn’t great— the pages fit awkwardly in the flaps and the notebook, and the notebook doesn’t have its own closure, it relies on the refill having an elastic, which isn’t great. There isn’t an option for a pen loop, and there’s no obvious way to secure a pen to it. After purchasing this, I did some more research and found better, higher quality options elsewhere for considerably less money.
Hi, thank you for your detailed feedback. We use vegetable tanned leather which tends to come out in a darker, more natural tone and also ages really nicely. We've tried to represent the colour as accurately as possible on the website imagery.
I'm not sure what you mean about the pages fitting awkwardly, it's not something that has ever been noted by anyone before. If you can send a few pictures of what you mean over email I'd love to see what you mean and help out with fit if possible.
The reason we use the elastic closure that is built into the notebook is because elastic has a limited lifespan. The idea is that this notebook cover should last a lifetime so I decided not to use any materials that are prone to failure.
There is also no pen loop, and it isn't described as having one. Thanks for the feedback though, I'll look at how we could include one in a new version.
For a full grain, vegetable tanned notebook cover (including notebook) that is hand stitched in London I believe we're priced reasonably and you'll struggle to find a product that will last longer than ours will.

The refillable notebook I ordered in British racing green looks excellent and the way it is made suggests it will only get better over many years use. I had some text added to both the outside and inside of the cover and both are very sharp and add a nice personal touch to my notebook. These are not inexpensive items but you will not need another for a very long time.

A5 Refillable Notebook - Chestnut
I've been eyeing this item for months. I had to buy it and let me tell you, it is spectacular. It was worth the wait and the quality is premium. I already had other products, card holders, wallets. And always with premium quality. I will buy from this store again.
I ordered the Karst sizing to use with a Midori A5 notebook and it fits well. These are the same published dimensions as the Karst notebooks but require the bottom right edge of the front cover to be rounded with an 8mm punch to stop the corner getting caught up with the stitching - the Karst comes rounded. Very happy with the notebook cover.

This was my first leather purchase from Wingback, and I wanted to see what Italian leather looked and felt like. Being an American leather product user, I am used to thicker American hides, and expected the Italian leather to be the same (or similar) thickness. The Italian leather looks and feels like bonded (leather that is ground up and glued together) leather, and is almost cardboard-ish. I will admit, the tanning and color (Chilli) is first-rate, and evenly done, and the red color is very nice. There are no cosmetic flaws, nicks, scratches, or tears in the leather. It comes in a nice cloth drawstring pouch. The stitching is also well done, and even.

Thanks for the honest review, and I'm glad you like the product. I'd like to address your points on the leather itself and offer a couple of pointers that may help you enjoy it a little more.
Firstly I can assure you that the leather is not bonded. We only use full grain vegetable tanned hides for our products. We do use a natural sealing process on the back of the leather though in order to give a consistent finish and offer a bit of extra protection over the life of the product.
The leather also starts off life quite stiff but will soften and conform as it is used. You can speed up this process by manipulating the leather in your hands.
After a few weeks of good use is when the leather should really have broken in nicely and display it's best characteristics, so please let me know how you get on after a bit of time with the product.
