Our Red Dot award-winning Mechanical Pencil carries 10x more lead than alternatives in its all metal custom designed mechanism. Its ergonomic wide diameter and knurled grip help reduce hand fatigue while creating.

The Black Steel version is finished with an ultra hard, scratch resistant 4µm tungsten carbide layer which is 9x harder than stainless steel, and usually reserved for high performance cutting tools.

METAL: Aerospace-grade 304 stainless steel from Europe, CNC machined in Birmingham, UK. Tungsten carbide carbon finish applied in Cambridge, UK.

MECHANISM: Bespoke all-metal mechanism made in Iwaki, Japan.

PACKAGING: Waxed cotton sleeve from Halley Stevensons in Scotland or Oeko-Tex double thickness cotton sleeve from Poland, Europe. Please note packaging may vary depending on availability of materials.

FINISH: Laser engraved, assembled by hand and packaged in London, UK.

CONSIDERATIONS: The Black Steel pen retains all the precision and corrosion-resistant qualities of stainless steel, while the tungsten carbide finish increases the surface hardness 9x. Any marks it picks up from regular use should be easily wiped away. However, the surface is scratch resistant, not scratch proof. Anything harder than the surface (diamond, some ceramics) or really aggressive use will be able to scratch it, which is why we recommend keeping it in its cotton sleeve when not in use, and carrying your diamonds in another pocket.

Where and how is it made?

Most items are designed and made in England and when they're not, it's to make a better product, not cut costs. Every product page will tell the product provenience.

How do I look after it?

Very little. Our materials are chosen to wear in, not out. Leather and brass deepen into a patina with use; steel and titanium take almost anything in their stride. A clean and the occasional polish is all most pieces ever need.

Can I return or exchange it?

Unpersonalised pieces can be returned or exchanged within 30 days of delivery. Personalised pieces are made just for you, so they can't be returned unless faulty. Either way, you're covered for life by our guarantee.
