Guaranteed for life
Every Wingback is covered by our Lifetime Guarantee and repair service. If a piece ever fails through a fault in its materials or its making, we will repair it or replace it. Fair wear, patina and the marks of use are part of the story, not a fault.
Made in England
This product is made in England. We keep as much as we can close to home, but the priority is always on creating the best product. Where something is better made overseas, it is, and we note it in the details.
Description
The Key Cache is designed to carry a small but vital cargo: emergency cash, a note for safekeeping, or essential medicine. Its machined knurled surface ensures a tactile grip, and the hermetically sealed compartment keeps its contents safe and dry.
With the world’s highest strength-to-weight ratio of any metal, titanium is typically used in aerospace and motorsport where strength and weight matter most. Our matte titanium is blasted with 80-micron fused alumina particles at 100 m/s to create a fine, uniform smooth finish. Soft to the touch and noticeably darker than our machined titanium, it feels unexpectedly light in the hand and will develop a beautiful patina, darkening out of the box and picking up marks with everyday use.

Reviews
I purchased the key cache keychain for the look and safety. In both cases, the wingback keychain has exceeded my expectations. I store a $100 bill in the cache. It was very difficult to fold the note in the bottom but very pleased to know I have emergency cash at the ready.
Glad to hear you have been able to find a good solution for your emergency cash in our wingback Key Cache! If you have any trouble in the future folding the not we have a youtube tutorial that I will link here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2hBWyJJPMXg
Thanks for leaving this fab review!
I recently purchased the Titanium Key Cache from Wingback, upon arrival it met all expectations, it’s beautifully made from grade 5 Titanium, I also added my phone number etched onto the base of the unit, it lives on my key carry for emergency funds if I need it, highly recommend top quality products.
Love the black steel, key loop ➰ and chache very handy to hold cash or pills it sit nice in the pocket for joggers to formal wear ..
Great gift idea for friends & family. Customised with phone number or email it helps you get lost keys back and a decent ££ note in the cache is handy when your card or phone won’t work without internet. Nice heft, great design, simple, helpful
Some things in life are essential, some things in life are important, some things in life are a luxury and some things in life are obsolete.
Putting this product in one of those categories is more subjective than objective.
To own an item of this level of quality that follows one around every step of the way through the daily journey of life makes one feel... no... makes one KNOW that one has a piece of history in their pocket.
An item that will undoubtedly become a piece of history once a kin way down the line will proudly explain to some observant fellow human how this masterfully designed and machined chunk of grade-A quality metal went through the hands of many ancestors...
It is then when the line between essential, important, luxury and obsolete fade and there is something deeper taking their place: Emotion.
Great product as always from Wingback
The Wingback Key Cache in Brass is a masterclass in everyday carry (EDC) design, flawlessly blending minimalist elegance with rugged utility. CNC-machined in England from a solid block of aerospace-grade European brass, it serves as a highly functional, compact emergency vault for your keychain.
Exceptional Craftsmanship: The tactile, diamond-cut knurling offers a satisfying grip, while the precision-engineered threads provide a seamless, rattle-free closure.
Hermetically Sealed Security: Equipped with a rubber O-ring, the internal compartment is entirely water-tight. It securely houses emergency medicine, contact details, or a single rolled-up banknote (compatible with USD, GBP, and Euros) keeping your essentials bone-dry regardless of the weather.
A Beautiful Patina: Over time, the raw brass reacts with the natural oils of your skin and the environment, oxidizing into a rich, darker patina unique to your journey. (Though a quick polish with Brasso easily restores its original golden luster if preferred).
The Verdict: If you appreciate British manufacturing and want a premium, heirloom-quality "insurance policy" on your keyring, the Wingback Key Cache is worth every penny
My husband has had a Wingback Key Cache for many years, bought not long after the business was set up. It is still going strong and he loves it. In years years we have gifted them to others, particularly for a special 18th birthday present. They are always very well received. My only request to Wingback is that they add a gift card option.
Key Cache - Black Steel
This is a buy it once kind of item. Something you will have for a life time. Love it!
Cool key ring fob
If you’re obsessed with exquisitely made accessories that are knurled then you’re going to love all of Wingback’s products. Life is too short not to own such beautiful items.
Stylish, exceptional quality. Makes me smile each time I pick it up. Richard
Solid, stylish and sumptuous. What's not to like?
Sent me the wrong engraving and had to pay an additional 28$ for shipping... Hoping they fix this issue, piece is crafted very well just not what i wanted to be engraved
They sent me the correct product and was quick with the emails back and forth. Good company!
This is a great little keychain, providing a way to carry emergency cash with beautiful craftsmanship
Hi Jerad,
Thank you!
Alasdair, my garage is detached from the main house with its own access door. Through the years I’ve changed my front door locks but the garage door is secured by one remaining key. Importantly, my garage contains my car, motorcycle, lawnmower, washer/drier, garbage cans, tools, and the only access to the attic. The key cache is the keeper of the most important key in my home! The you. Jimmy

Frequently asked questions
Unpersonalised pieces leave us in 1 to 2 working days; personalised pieces are made to order and leave in 1 to 2 weeks. UK delivery is by DPD and usually adds a day or two. International orders travel by FedEx and arrive 2 to 7 days after dispatch, depending on where you are. Anything that includes a pre-order piece ships together, on the date shown against that piece.
No. International orders are sent delivered duty paid. The price you pay at checkout includes any import duty and tax due in your country, and we settle it with the carrier before the parcel leaves England. Nothing is owed on delivery and there is no paperwork to complete.
Most pieces can be engraved with initials, a name or a short message — add the inscription on this page before you add to cart. Two things change when you do: your piece is made to order, so allow 1 to 2 weeks before dispatch, and because it is made for you it cannot be returned or exchanged.
Yes — you have 30 days from delivery to change your mind, no reason needed. Email hello@wingback.co.uk and send the piece back; you cover the return shipping and we refund your original payment method. The exception is personalised pieces, which are made to your specification and cannot be returned.
Yes. If anything fails through a fault in the materials or the making — whether that is next month or in twenty years — we repair or replace it. Wear, patina and the marks of use are not faults; they are the point. The full terms are on our Guarantee & repairs page.
Our materials are chosen to wear in, not wear out. Brass darkens with handling into a patina unique to you — polish it back to bright whenever you like. Steel and titanium keep their finish with almost no attention, and leather deepens in colour as it is used. This ageing is character rather than damage, and each product page carries specific care notes in the Wear and Care row.
About us
Since 2014 we've been blending technical engineering with traditional craft to create refined tools that are guaranteed to last a lifetime. We design every product ourselves, from a studio in London's iconic Oxo Tower.
The metal is machined in England, the leather hand-stitched in London, and our waxed cotton bags made in England. A few pieces are made overseas, by specialists who do that particular job better than we could here, and where that's the case we say so on the product page rather than leave you guessing.
Wherever a product is made, it's designed here and carries the same guarantee. If something stops working as it should in normal use, we repair or replace it, however long you've owned it.
