Description
Small enough to sit unnoticed in your pocket, the Pocket Pen measures under 80mm closed and extends to a full 132mm once the cap is posted, so it sits balanced in the hand and writes like a full-size pen. A hole through the base takes a key ring or a cord (sold separately), ready to carry with your keys or on a lanyard. The standard D1 cartridge writes smoothly and swaps out in seconds, with plenty of refills to choose from.
The Black Steel version is finished with an ultra hard, scratch resistant 4µm tungsten carbide layer which is 9x harder than stainless steel, and usually reserved for high performance cutting tools.

If connecting to a lanyard we suggest you use a detachable strap in case it gets caught on something while you're wearing it.
The tungsten carbide coating is nine times harder than stainless steel, so it shrugs off keys and coins. No polish needed.

I am pleased with my pocket pen, as the finish meets the high standards typically associated with Wingback. This is my third pen purchase from the brand; however, upon disassembly, I discovered that the refill was wedged in place to prevent it from dislodging. While I am confident that extensive testing ensures stability during normal use, this design approach lacks the level of refinement I have come to expect from Wingback.
Hi John, Thanks for your review and glad you like the Pocket Pen. The design to retain the cartridge is done by off-centring the hole it sits in the grip from the hole at the end of the barrel. This is intentional and I thought quite a neat solution to keep the D1 cartridge which has no shoulder in place with no additional components needed. I'm sorry you're not so happy with the approach on this one, but for me, doing as much work with as few parts as possible is the refinement I aim for so that the geometry does as much heavy lifting as it can. Like the design of the pen, the way it writes.
My only question is the cost of the refill cartridge over a period of time will be very costly.
The new ‘mini’ small brass ballpoint pen from Wingback is excellent. Small enough to fit in any pocket, but when you unscrew the barrel then **** it onto the end of the pen, it becomes a full size pen, which is very comfortable to write with. A great idea, which makes it so useful.

I base this comment on the two pens, two notebook covers, one pen sleeve and two wallets, I have purchased from this company. All the items I purchased are of excellent quality.
Small but perfectly formed and clearly built to last!
Neatly unobtrusive in a pocket or on a key ring its rapid transformation into a full size pen is remarkable. I’m glad I got it, not least because it’s made to last.
Good design but unfinished.
Unlike every other item I've purchased from wingback this was delayed in postage, same thing happened to my brother, delayed postage. I suspect Wingback oversold the item, hence the delay.
When it came I had to deburr the lanyard hole and the thread as both razor sharp. Not your usual standard.

Unpersonalised pieces leave us in 1 to 2 working days; personalised pieces are made to order and leave in 1 to 2 weeks. UK delivery is by DPD and usually adds a day or two. International orders travel by FedEx and arrive 2 to 7 days after dispatch, depending on where you are. Anything that includes a pre-order piece ships together, on the date shown against that piece.

Most pieces can be engraved with initials, a name or a short message — add the inscription on this page before you add to cart. Two things change when you do: your piece is made to order, so allow 1 to 2 weeks before dispatch, and because it is made for you it cannot be returned or exchanged.
Yes — you have 30 days from delivery to change your mind, no reason needed. Email hello@wingback.co.uk and send the piece back; you cover the return shipping and we refund your original payment method. The exception is personalised pieces, which are made to your specification and cannot be returned.

Our materials are chosen to wear in, not wear out. Brass darkens with handling into a patina unique to you — polish it back to bright whenever you like. Steel and titanium keep their finish with almost no attention, and leather deepens in colour as it is used. This ageing is character rather than damage, and each product page carries specific care notes in the Wear and Care row.
